PRIME 101 : Identification and Management of Major Pests of Rice

The course is designed to familiarize the data collectors and PRIME focal persons with the major pests affecting rice in the field. As part of the PRIME project, correct pest identification is very important to plan appropriate pest management interventions and activities.


Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the staff/student/participant should be able to:

  • Identify the major pests in the Philippines
  • Enumerate management options for different rice pests

PRIME 102 : PRIME Crop Health Monitoring Protocol

This course is designed to train and retool new and existing regional data collectors and PRIME focal persons with the updated crop health monitoring protocols. This will also evaluate the knowledge of each data collector on performing the protocols which is significant in the accuracy of the data that will be used in developing pest management and recommendations. 


Objectives

Upon completion of the course, the staff/student/participant should be able to:

  1. Review and familiarize the participants with the updated crop health monitoring protocols of major pests of rice.
  2. Use the crop health monitoring protocols and PRIME Collect App in the actual field.
  3. Assess pest injuries in farmer’s fields according to the protocol for rapid crop health assessment.
